This was a mixed-method, multisite study based in Ottawa and Toronto. The main objective of this project was to improve the health system’s response during and after the COVID-19 pandemic by developing evidence-based models to inform policy and collaborative best practices to mitigate its spread and ameliorate related health consequences in vulnerable communities. The project involved a combination of in-depth qualitative interviews and surveys using a structured questionnaire.
This study engaged ACB communities and identified strategies to build providers’ capacity to address COVID-19 related-health outcomes using a community-based participatory research approach. It was informed by a socio-ecological model and an intersectionality lens
